The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad Railfest Mountain Craft Fair A Festival Celebrating Arts and Crafts of the Western North Carolina Mountains 2010—Scheduled for September 18 — 19.
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad announces Railfest 2010! Headliners for Railfest 2010 include Motorcars from across America, Miss North Carolina USA, Nadia Moffett, and Catch the Spirit of Appalachia's local "Heritage Alive!" Entertainment with the seventh annual Children's Talent Show. The fun begins Friday night with a special “Wet Your Whistle” kick-off celebration train reception. The Mountain Craft Festival officially opens at 9am on Saturday (going through Sunday 4pm), offering guests wonderful handmade crafts, a taste of railroad food, memorabilia, storytelling, dance, live music, special excursions and events that happen only once a year.
General Information: In the upcoming 8th year, the Mountain Craft Fair section of the upcoming 2010 GSMR Railfest will be Saturday from 9am until 5pm, and on Sunday from 9am until 4pm. "The deadline for entries in the Mountain Craft Fair is August 1, 2010," says Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, who is coordinating the fair for GSMR. Heritage Alive! Mountain Youth Talent Contest To showcase the musical and vocal talents of our local children, Catch the Spirit of Appalachia (CSA) will produce Heritage Alive! Mountain Youth Talent Contest on the entertainment stage in the GSMR Depot area of Bryson City, NC on Saturday, September 18, 2010 during the 7th Annual Mountain Craft Show.
